Life in Gunts yard. Luluai Pfun and the young man, Kloi, (visiting from Fogaikump) stand inside the Vaydas' verandah. Pfun wears his habitual hornbill beak necklace and has put on a cap (mamb' kun in Tok Ples). Kloi's face is decorated with red singsing powder and black (probably a mixture from ashes). He wears a wig made of black human hair with a strip of white (possibly possum fur). From his necklace of beads hangs a traditional chain woven from wild orchid fiber (yellow) and another fiber.
