ODSAS is a scientific platform for storing, personalized manipulation and individual and collective multilayer annotation of digital resources. The platform is based (but not exclusively intended for) the needs of social sciences and humanities with particular accent on anthropologists' needs.

Components

The ODSAS platform has two components.

The first component is constituted by the technology, software and webserving, which is called ODSAS itself and which is hosted.  Funds for hosting the platform have come from various institutions (CNRS, Maison Asie-Pacifique, Ministry for Research and Higher Education, CREDO....).

The second component is constituted by the program of digitizing and organizing the collections and archival sources. This component is called ADAP (Archives Digitales Asie-Pacifique). While ODSAS is not limited to Pacific and Australian material, the latter are without doubt an important aspect. Many people have contributed to ADAP.

Funding

Over the years, ODSAS has been co-funded by several institutions:
- CNRS-funded staff;
- EHESS-funded staff (Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales);
- Staff and digitization equipment is hosted by Aix-Marseille University;
- Server costs have been covered for many years by MAP (Maison Asie-Pacifique); today ODSAS is hosted by the IR Huma-Num;
- CREDO (Centre de Recherche et de Documentation sur l'Océanie) is contributing to cover other regular and exceptional costs;

Additionally, we receive funds from project applications such as Huma-Num, Archives des Ethnologues, BSN5 (Ministry for Research and Higher Education), etc.
