or clan-ship.

are put promissory coco-nuts given by the introducer.

(n5)mur uaal (L.) : (I) a man who is a renowned ï¬Åghter; (z) " the
warrior," a, name for the small bull-roarer used in incision cere-
monies.

(ne)mwamen (L.) : the " maker â€ù or purchaser in a Nimmzgki celebration,
(m')mu/ail = “the cycas.â€ù
mwalnggilz sex—and-iertility magic; also used for ï¬Åshing magic, house-
building magic, eto., but never for any kind of death~and-sickness
magic. It is also pronounced mahmggfl which is the name in Mewun
myth for the elder son of the ï¬Årst Knbat (q.v.).

(m')mwim'n = “ the spirit " ; used for the spirit of a human being and
oi certain plants and animals.
(ni)mwitew = bixa orellana; the fruit is used for making red paint.
(ne)mzp (L.) : ceremony in the rites of the N imnngki Misi whereby women
who are in mourning are released from this and allowed to return
to normal life.
(mlndar = the coral tree, erythrina.
ndelndel/mas: a gong-rhythm sounded especially when a pig is about to
be killed; also the rhythm of the “ Black" Nimimghi grades.
(1e)ndilis nggvrnggar = “ they destroy the ience " ; the rite by which
a widow is released from her mourning.
(nz)miu1: a variety of sickness-magic worked by “ poison â€ù.
(nilninin (L.) : the soul; cf. Seniang (ni)mm'm"n.
